Adjective Records

Electric Possible
After a little summer hiatus, 5dots (that’s me) has got a show coming up.
Sunday, 11/7/04, at 8 pm, costs $5, on the GWU campus. here’s the address:
Phillips Hall, 801 22nd St, NW, Room B120 (in the basement).
Jeff Bagato (AKA DJ Panic) is the guy who puts on the Electric Possible shows, the website for which is here. This show hasn’t been added to that page yet, and I believe the final lineup is still unconfirmed, but I do know that the Angus Brainpan will be there, and they’re really nice. So come out! It’s only five dollars, and we know you’re not doing anything better on a Sunday night.

Grooves Revoos
The fine folks at Grooves Magazine reviewed Disaster Action Kid, and it’s quite positive. I am a little disappointed, though, that they didn’t like my skit.

Y'all should go out and buy a copy. Of the magazine. But also of the record. Because hey, if they think it’s good, you probably will too.

Just add 5dots
Check out another glowing review of Disaster Action Kid by the fine folks at justaddnoise dot com. I’m particularly fond of the fact that they picked up on my spazzcore influences.

Another DAK review
Check out this really scathing review of my record, at barcode. 3.3 out of 10!

Sonomu’s "First Look"
Check out the first known review of Disaster Action Kid at Sonomu. They plan to post a more extensive review soon, but you can read their first impressions right now. (hint: first impressions = good)

Album Release!
We’ve been putting off posting details about the first Adjective release (5dots' Disaster Action Kid), because we wanted to make sure we weren’t leaving out any information.

Well, it looks like we’ve got all the info. So it’s my distinct pleasure to announce that the Disaster Action Kid release date is April 27th, 2004. It will be available online via amazon.com and cdbaby.com, in select Tower Records stores and directly from us.

Ordering it from us directly means that we get more of your monetary support (and it might work out to be cheaper for you), but it does also mean that it’s us who will be sending you your cd, so it might take a smidge longer. Orders placed through our online store will not be shipped until the 27th. You will also be able to get a copy from us at any show we play.

The decision as to which outlet to get your copy from is, of course, up to you.

Disaster Action Party
Mark your calendars: in celebration of Adjective’s first release, and my first album, Adjective is throwing a release party show for those in DC! Here are the details:

April 30th, 2004, at The Warehouse Next Door
1017 7th st. NW, WDC (www.warehousetheater.com for more info)
Doors at 9, $8.

featuring:
-Dork Vs. Dweeb (no-holds-barred DSP duel feat. Derek Morton of DC’s Mikroknytes)
-Adjective’s Al3x Payne (diversely styled dj)
-Durga Temple (driving noise/psychedelic/garage rock)
-Lojak (breakbeat/hip hop styled electronic music)
-And of course, Adjective’s own 5dots (that’s me)! I’ve been preparing a lot of fun, loud laptop rock especially for the occasion!

This will be a really fun show, and we’ve all been looking forward to it for a long time. I’m looking forward to seeing YOU there, so you can party down, enjoy some really good music, and also be some of the first people to buy my record. Also, show up early, as we’ll be playing the record before the performers go on!

Disasterous Release Party
We are currently working out arrangements for a great big record release party to celebrate all the hard work that’s gone into getting this album out. We want to give everybody a chance to come out and see an awesome show and, of course, buy the CD while it’s still warm from the pressing. Stay tuned for date, location, and other juicy details!

Disaster Imminent
Disaster Action Kid, the first full-length from 5dots and Adjective’s first release, is going to be out any time now. The record is finished and mastered, and the album art is just about done. Disaster will be available in stores and online in April.
